Turing vs. Zuse

I was always taught that the architecture of the modern computer had been invented by the British Alan Turing, and the (Hungarian-)American John von Neumann. Now I am ready to learn about Konrad Zuse, the misunderstood German engineer, who was a competitor of Turing, and came up with the series of Z computers. Zuse took refuge in Switzerland during World War II, and managed to complete his Z4 in Z├╝rich, at the ETH.
